Florence Freize of Murrieta, Calif., passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the age of 75.
Florence was born May 23, 1941 in New York, and was the daughter of Vito and Beatrice Portararo. She married her high school sweetheart, Roger Freize, and then raised her family in Colorado before heading west to California to be with them and her grandchildren.
Florence had a thoughtful, artistic and spirited personality and loved to joke and play pranks. You would find her quilting, sewing, doing crafts, playing card games, watching sports and organizing family get togethers. Family was very important to her especially spending time with the grandkids.
She loved to socialize, and made many friends that she kept in touch with through the years. Florence was an active member of various quilting and bridge groups, including the Murrieta Senior Center Bridge Group.
She loved all of her grandchildren and tried to do something special with each of them. She taught them games, took them to movies, watched their sporting events and always told them she loved them!
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Roger Freize; sons, Roger II (Gina) and Mark (Stacey); daughter Kimberly (Rich), and her grandchildren, Abby, Elliott, Riley, and Joshua. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her! Many of her closest friends say that whenever they think of Florence, they always smile!
The family held a private memorial service on April 13. A celebration of life gathering will be held later this spring.
