Signature Farms, a Murrieta horse rescue ranch, will be holding a funny-filled fundraising event on Friday.
The ranch will be holding a comedy show benefit to help raise money for a variety of horse care needs, facility maintenance, and continued charity event operation costs.
Save the Animals Today, a nonprofit associated with the ranch, will hold “Hypnolarious,” a comedy show on Friday at 8 p.m. at Keyways Vineyard & Winery at 37338 De Portola Road in Temecula.
Pattie Roberts, founder of the nonprofit Save the Animals Today and owner/operator of Signature Farms, says the show will feature creative and hilarious hypnotizing stunts performed by regular people from the audience.
It’s something participants and spectators will be talking about for years to come, she says.
More than 20 starving rescue horses arrived at Signature Farms one summer. The ranch was soon transformed into a nonprofit horse rescue center.
A woman who tried to rescue these horses stopped feeding and surrendered them to the State of California.
The state does not have an adoption program like it does for dogs and cats, so the horses were going to be put down.
The horses were not euthanized because Signature Farms stepped in and gave them a home.
But being a horse rescue center can be costly.
Roberts is asking community members of southwest Riverside County and surrounding areas for help in caring for these animals. The organization has several donor programs available.
All benefit proceeds and other donations will go towards pipe corrals, welding repairs, tractor work, fly spray, feed and supplements, raffle prizes and resale items.
