A real estate educator, Bruce Norris, came out to speak to nearly 100 people in the industry at the Southwest Riverside County Association of Realtors (SRCAR) facility in Murrieta Wednesday, Sept. 18.
This is the third annual event.
This is a big event for SRCAR; it helps to provide education to their members and affiliates on what to expect in the market, said Adam Ruiz, chair of Southwest Riverside County Young Professional Network, and director at SRCAR.
Norris has over 30 years of experience in the industry.
He is also an investor and hard money lender. He has been involved in more than 2,000 real estate transactions as a buyer, seller, builder, and money partner, according to the Norris Group’s website.
Norris spoke to a crowd that included investors, realtors, and appraisers from different agencies, for an hour and a half Wednesday morning.
“[The market] affects us in so many ways, whether you’re a listing agent or buying agent,” Ruiz said. “Knowing what’s coming in the next few months or few years is super important.”
Norris comes to this event annually give to his opinion on “what’s next.”
“[Bruce] loves us, he’s given us a lot of support,” Ruiz said, he hopes Norris will return next year.
This is an event that a lot of people love, Ruiz also said.
He was surprised that a lot people that have attended the event in the
past had never heard Norris speak before.
Those who have had heard him speak always look forward to the event. Ruiz also said Norris is “pretty famous” in the industry.
Norris said the best advice he can give to someone who is a real estate agent is to find people who have equity, and to get clients who are investors.
The event was educational and informative, said Karen Davis, VP regional manager of the Mortgage House, Inc. in Temecula.
“I am always looking for knowledge. When you’re in the industry you always need to know what’s going on,” she said.
Before Wednesday Davis had never heard Norris speak before. And what she learned from that day’s event was “we’re hoping that the market is going to improve if [Bruce’s] projections are right, and they say he is usually right,” she said.
“I’m a little more enthusiastic,” Davis added.
Bruce has contributed articles to many real estate magazines and n
ewsletters; he also serves on the Executive Board for the Real Estate Research Council of Southern California.
