CORONA: Officer involved shooting ends domestic violence 9-1-1 call

An officer-involved shooting occurred today when Corona police responded to a domestic violence call and came upon a man armed with a handgun, but no injuries were reported.

Officers were dispatched to a home in the 1700 block of Greenview Avenue after one of the residents placed a 911 call at 12:44 a.m. to report a domestic violence incident, said Sgt. Paul Mercado of the Corona Police Department.

Officers arrived and found Keith Bernard Winn, 39, in the home’s garage, armed with a handgun, Mercado said.

An officer with 17 years on the force fired, but did not hit Winn, who did not discharge his weapon and subsequently surrendered, the sergeant said.
