RIVERSIDE – Free health screenings, immunizations, kids’ activities and other fare will be available today at the Schroeder Rubidoux Family Care Center in Riverside as part of the Riverside University Health System’s celebration of National Health Center Week.
The Health Expo will get underway about 10 a.m., featuring remarks by Rep. Mark Takano, D-Riverside, and Dr. Peter Lee, the clinic’s director.
Residents will be offered an opportunity to tour the facility, meet with staff and learn more about RUHS’s services, according to county officials.
“For more than 50 years, community health centers across the country have delivered comprehensive, high-quality preventive and primary health care to patients regardless of their ability to pay,” according to an RUHS statement. “The 10 community health centers operated by RUHS throughout Riverside County deliver nearly 130,000 patient visits annually.”
Health screenings will be provided until about 2 p.m. and will include blood pressure readings, body mass index measurements, testing for diabetes and flu shots, officials said.
The clinic network stretches to all corners of the county, with the Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley functioning as the hub.
