Just one more day to file nomination papers for Palm Springs City Council

PALM SPRINGS – Tomorrow is the final day to file nomination papers to run for two open seats on the Palm Springs City Council.

The deadline to file candidacy paperwork is 6 p.m. Wednesday at Palm Springs City Hall, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way.

Council members Ginny Foat and Chris Mills, who have served a combined 30 years on the council, announced last month that they will not be seeking reelection.

Among those currently qualified for the Nov. 7 ballot are Palm Springs Planning Commissioner Lisa Middleton; retired Navy Cmdr. Glenn Flood; W. Henry Hampton, director of corporate development for Berkshire Hathaway Homes Services; author journalist Robert Stone; attorney and Palm Springs Human Rights commissioner Christy Holstege; and land-use consultant Judy Deertrack.

Four others, Tad Iwan, Chad Roberson, Andrew C. Hirsch, Ameenah Fuller, have not yet officially qualified.
