MORENO VALLEY: Few details released after deadly shooting

MORENO VALLEY — Officials have released few details after a person was shot and killed in front of a Moreno Valley residence Friday, June 9. The deadly shooting happened on the 14000 block of Brandt Drive, south of Alessandro Boulevard and west of Indian Street.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Moreno Valley Police Station responded to the home at 6:41 p.m., after receiving reports of the shooting, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Wallace Clear explained in a press release.

Deputies arrived within minutes and located a person down in the front yard of a residence. The victim, who has only been described as a male, had been shot and was not breathing, according to Clear.

Deputies immediately began emergency lifesaving procedures and continued until paramedics arrived.

AMR medics transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by emergency room staff at the hospital.

Officials have not released the name of the victim, pending notification of the person’s family.

Based on the circumstances, investigators from the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit and Moreno Valley Police Station responded to the scene and assumed investigation, which is active and ongoing                                                 .
