MORENO VALLEY – Two people suffered minor injuries in a fire that damaged a two-story residence in Moreno Valley Thursday afternoon.
The blaze was reported about 3 p.m. in the 22000 block of Naranja Street, near Roja Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Nearly two dozen firefighters encountered flames in the upper floor of the house, a fire department spokeswoman said.
One of the occupants suffered minor injuries getting out of the residence and was transported to Riverside University Medical Center for treatment.
Two other men and a woman escaped the flames, and one had an unspecified injury but refused treatment, according to the fire department.
Crews fully contained the blaze within a half-hour.
American Red Cross personnel were assisting the displaced residents.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
