MORENO VALLEY: Motorist killed in two-car crash on 60 Freeway

MORENO VALLEY – A motorist was killed today in a two-vehicle collision on the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway.

The crash occurred about 4:15 a.m. on the eastbound 60, just east of Moreno Beach Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by firefighters. He suffered major injuries and was transported to Riverside University Medical Center for treatment.

California Highway Patrol officers partially shut down the eastbound 60 for more than an hour while the rescue was carried out.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the collision.
