A small brush fire near Lake Hemet was about 90-percent contained this morning, authorities said.
The “Toro Peak” fire was reported at 1:22 p.m. Monday, southeast of Lake Hemet, just off state Route 74 in the San Bernardino National Forest, and has blackened about two acres, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
No homes or other structures were threatened.
More than 130 firefighters initially worked to encircle the blaze with the help of four air tankers and two water-dropping helicopters. The aircraft were released Monday night, but crews expect to remain on the scene until about 8 p.m. Tues. night.
There is word, currently, on what sparked the blaze.
