The crash was reported at 2:45 a.m., right on the Orange and Riverside county line between Lake Elsinore and San Juan Capistrano, the California Highway Patrol said. The highway was closed in both directions to allow for a helicopter to land to reach the patients, who were trapped in a car that went off a cliff, according to reports from the scene.
