Workers rupture gas line at Riverside business

RIVERSIDE – A punctured gas line prompted the evacuation of a business today in east Riverside.

The rupture was reported just before noon at 1550 Marlborough Ave., near Chicago Avenue, below the 60/91/215 interchange, according to the Riverside Fire Department.

A crew working inside the structure penetrated the gas line, at which point staff and customers evacuated the building, according to reports from the scene. No one was injured.

Southern California Gas Co. technicians were summoned to the location to
repair the damaged line.

No streets were closed, and none of the surrounding businesses were impacted.
