MENIFEE – A drunken driving/driver’s license checkpoint in Menifee netted 11 arrests, authorities said today.
The operation was held from 7 p.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday. Six people were arrested for suspicion of drunken driving of the 12 drivers who were evaluated, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Dan Lingo.
Deputies stopped 24 vehicles and five people were arrested for suspicion of driving without a license or with a suspended license, Lingo said.
Seven vehicles were impounded, and six citations were issued for traffic violations.
Funding was provided by federal highway funds through the state Office of Traffic Safety.
