Members of the Eastvale Police Department arrested one person and issued various citations to others during one of their regularly scheduled checkpoints in the area of Limonite Avenue and Cloverdale Market Place in Eastvale, a sheriff’s official reported today.
The checkpoint took place from 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 20 until 3:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s report.
The checkpoint was geared at deterring individuals from driving under the influence or drugs in an effort to curb DUI-related deaths and injuries, the report said.
Approximately 690 drivers passed through the checkpoint, 11 of whom were given field sobriety tests. In addition to the one driver who was arrested, two drivers were issued citations for driving on a suspended license.
Additionally, seven citations were issued for miscellaneous vehicle code violations and penal code violations and six vehicles were towed, the report said.
