HEMET – A 34-year-old Hemet woman who allegedly robbed a bank today was caught by passersby and kept from getting to her vehicle until police arrived.
Carlee Turner has yet to be processed at the county jail but will be booked on suspicion of bank robbery, according to Hemet police Lt. Dean Evans.
Police received a call at 9:26 a.m. from employees at the Bank Of America branch on Florida Avenue, saying it had just been robbed, Evans said.
The woman has passed a note demanding money and advising the teller not to cause a scene, Evans said.
A teller handed her the money and the suspect ran out and across Florida Avenue, but residents stopped her in the parking lot of a nearby movie theater, Evans said.
