Jurupa Valley: Police arrest gang member in connection with predawn home invasion

A gang member was arrested today in connection with the predawn home invasion robbery of a elderly couple in Jurupa Valley.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 4:37 a.m. to the 7000 block of Big Rock Drive and caught Albert Sandoval, 21, of Jurupa Valley, running from the home as they pulled up. Sandoval was quickly arrested, Riverside County

sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Manning said.

Sandoval had allegedly forced his way into the home and attacked an 81-year-old man and 80-year-old woman, leaving them with moderate injuries. The couple was taken to a hospital.

Deputies searched the neighborhood for other suspects, Manning said, but concluded that Sandoval had acted alone.

Sandoval was booked for suspicion of several charges that included home invasion robbery, elder abuse and violating the terms of his post-release supervision. Sandoval also faces a gang-related charge that could lengthen a

prison sentence, Manning said.

He remained in custody with no bail set, Manning said.
