LAKE ELSINORE – On Wednesday, Jan. 29 officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) with the assistance of Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Gang Task Force Region 6 and the Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant on the 17400 block of De Brask Avenue in Lake Elsinore. During the service of this search warrant, four juveniles ranging in age from 5-years-old to 12-years-old were located in the residence, along with an adult subject who was detained.
Officers located approximately 93 marijuana plants, 10 pounds of dried marijuana and unregistered firearms. Officers also located several items used for the manufacturing of concentrated cannabis (Honey Oil).
The adult subject, identified as Jaime Higgins, 30-years-old of Lake Elsinore, was arrested and later booked into the Southwest Detention Center.
Investigation revealed two of the children were visiting the residence, but four total children lived at the residence. The Drug Endangered Children Team (DEC) responded.
The two visiting children were released to their respective parents; the four children who live at the residence were placed in protective custody with Child Protective Services.
Jaime Higgins was charged with manufacturing of concentrated cannabis and child endangerment.
The Lake Elsinore Police Department is committed to the safety of the citizens of Lake Elsinore and will be vigilant in investigating all crimes of this nature. This investigation is ongoing.
