A 34-year-old Menifee man suspected of smashing the windows of several Hemet businesses remained jailed as of press time.
The alleged vandalism occurred Sunday, June 3, and resulted in $30,000 worth of damage, said Hemet police Lt. Glen Brock.
Evidence gathered by law enforcement officials led to a search warrant being served Friday in the 29000 block of Escalante Road in Menifee, where Malachy Francois was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism, Brock said.
Police also found “evidence connecting him to the crimes,” according to Brock.
Francois was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility where he remained in lieu of $32,000 bail.
