Murrieta man, teacher in Val Verde Unified School Dist. arrested

On Monday, April 8, 2013, at approximately 3:12 PM, deputies from the Perris Police Department responded to the Val Verde Unified School District in reference to a reported crime of Harmful Matter Sent with the Intent of Seduction of a Minor (288 (b)(1) of the California Penal Code).

Perris Police Department investigators assumed control of the investigation. The suspect was identified as, Jeffrey Rightmire, 41 years old of Murrieta. Rightmire, who is a teacher employed by the Val Verde Unified School District, was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for sending harmful matter by text and internet, with the intent to seduce a minor.

The investigation revealed there were no additional victims in this case. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Investigator Barajas from the Perris Station at (951) 210-1049 or [email protected]

    He also coached one of the Middle School boys basketball teams. I hope that it was for volunteerism and not for his sick satisfaction.

    To resident-
    This man has worked at my school for over 20 years, and I seriously doubt that he would do something like this to such young child, and for you to suggest that he coaches the youth basketball teams for satisfaction, that is just stupid. His son just so happens to be on that team, so next time think before you just take a look at an article and type with your head up your butt.
