Officials Confirm Identities of Riverside Woman, Children Killed Last Week

RIVERSIDE – The coroner’s office today confirmed the identities of a 25-year-old Riverside woman and her two children, who were allegedly stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend, who was later shot and wounded by police.

Laura Reveriano, her 4-year-old son, Selvin Chajon Reveriano, and 19- month-old daughter, Emily Chajon Reveriano, were slain Thursday morning at a house in the 10000 block of Granger Street.

The alleged assailant, 23-year-old Selvin Chajon Rodriguez, remains hospitalized in critical condition and is expected to be arrested on suspicion of murder after he’s medically cleared.

Police allege Rodriguez broke into the home where Reveriano and her children were sleeping shortly before 7 a.m. and stabbed each of the victims multiple times before fleeing in a vehicle.

Witnesses called 911 and provided a description of the car and the suspect, who was later spotted by motorists walking along Interstate 15 at the Riverside (91) Freeway transition, wearing a bloody shirt and carrying a knife.

Corona police shot Rodriguez while trying to detain him at the Main Street off-ramp.

The week of her death, Reveriano obtained a temporary restraining order against the suspect, who she claimed had repeatedly threatened to kill her if she did not marry him, according to published reports.

The order had been approved by a judge but reportedly had not been processed and served on the suspect by the time of the killings.
