Riverside: Parolee leads officers on slow-speed pursuit, gets arrested at shopping mall

A parolee at large in a pickup truck led officers on a slow-speed, 20-minute chase in Riverside’s west end tonight before he was arrested in a shopping center parking lot, police said.

The chase began around 7:30 p.m. and ended in the 5700 block of Van Buren Boulevard, said Riverside police Lt. Julian Hutzler.

Police did not immediately release the man’s name. Hutzler said he was in his 30s.

At a minimum, he would be booked on suspicion of being a parolee at large and felony evading, the lieutenant said.
