Second arrest made in death of liquor store clerk

A second arrest has been made in connection with the April 1 slaying of a Temecula liquor store clerk.

Booked on suspicion of murder on May 13 was Marcus Fletcher, 21, of San Diego.

Dale Thomas, 20, of Temecula was arrested last month, on April 25, and also charged with the murder.

The arrests stem from a holdup of Rancho Liquor at 28322 Old Town Front Street when two robbers walked into the store at about 9:30 p.m.; shot the clerk, Rafi Ibrahim, 34, of Temecula, multiple times; and emptied two cash registers.

On April 23, homicide detectives served a search warrant at a home in the 29500 block of Mira Loma in Temecula. Following the search, Thomas was arrested.

The investigation later revealed a second suspect, Fletcher, who was arrested by San Diego Police last Friday.

The investigation remains open. Anyone with information should call Temecula police at (951) 696-3000 or (951) 955-2777.
