Officers from Temecula Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Team (POP), arrested a 30-year-old man Thursday evening after he agreed to purchase alcohol for an underage individual acting as a decoy.
Randy Abacherli of Temecula purchased alcohol at the request of the decoy, who was working with the police as part of a “shoulder tap” operation that took place between the hours of 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
The operation targets adults who purchase alcohol for people under 21 years of age, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s report.
Abacherli could now be facing a minimum $1000 fine and 24 hours of community service after purchasing alcohol for the underage person, according to Sgt. Chris Gaskins of the Temecula Police Department.
