LAKE ELSINORE – Two alleged drunken drivers were arrested at an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Lake Elsinore that ended early today.

Sheriff’s deputies began their operation at 7 p.m. Friday at Mission Trail and Malaga Road, east of Interstate 15, and ended it at 2 a.m.

A total of 538 vehicles went through the checkpoint, and only 19 of them were screened. Two motorists, Max Reyes, 24, of Lake Elsinore, and Anthony Rose, 42, of Hemet, flunked their field sobriety tests while 11 other motorists passed, Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Peter Giannakakos said.

Ten people were cited for driving without a license or a suspended one, and 10 vehicles were impounded and towed, Giannakakos said.
