Howie Kendrick has been called a “hot-hitting second baseman” in the headlines recently. The nine-year Angel will be making an appearance at the resort to sign autographs from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Pechanga Grand Ballroom. The event is limited to the first 500 fans and signed items will be limited to one item per person. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult to enter.
After joining the Angels in 2006, Kendrick unintentionally became the subject of national attention as a result of going after a foul ball and colliding with a fan in the stands of the first base side of Fenway Park in Boston. The fan he crashed into happened to be actor Ben Affleck. Footage of the event shows Kendrick beating Affleck to the ball, but he later presented the actor with a signed baseball for his birthday. Kendrick signed a new, four-year contract with the Angels in 2012. In July 2013, he achieved his 1,000th career hit. This season, he is once again making headlines by playing well defensively and offensively.
