Story Last Updated : Oct 20th.

Witty in person and witty on the page, Walter Rouzer is known for his verbal repartee and wordplay. The 56-year-old Fallbrook resident recently published a book. "Rebel Stone and the Ghost Whisperers" is ready for tween readers to sink their teeth into.

"I have always loved to tell fun stories and jokes," Rouzer explained.

Rouzer always loved to write but didn’t take the idea seriously until a coworker at Village News, Inc. suggested that he write a book capitalizing on his pun-spinning tendencies. After mulling the concept, Rouzer opted to instead create an offbeat protagonist, Rebel Stone, who would draw upon the curiosity, humor and adventure that is inherent in young readers today.

"Rebel is a very fun person to go exploring with," Rouzer said. "This book is for ‘tweens’ and anyone gravitating toward a fun, humorous adventure tale for the young at heart."

The young protagonist moves with his family into a castle that overlooks the Mississippi River, only to find himself using his ghost detecting skills in the most Advertisement

amazing adventure of his life. No stranger to paranormal events, Rebel is confronted by the dark forces within the mansion.

The prologue begins: "Black clouds swirled, twisted, and churned into a wicked brew over the small town of Shadowridge… Suddenly, a gigantic beam of light exploded out from the eye of the storm. It flashed upon the earth, leaving in its wake a huge circle of burnt, blackened soil in the center of the cornfield."

"It’s Rebel Stone and his newfound friend, Becky Robinson’s extraordinary courage, resourcefulness and determination in the face of insurmountable odds that makes them interesting characters to follow. They put their lives on the line time and time again. Their true source of strength and courage comes from an uncompromising love and willpower to help save others."

The moral of the story is that no matter how young a person may be, or what obstacles may stand in his or her way, sustained determination and willpower can lead to great accomplishments in life.
