Photography workshops planned next month will feature a Temecula Wine Country setting and focus on building skills and learning the business.

The $99 workshops, which will be held from 9 a.m. until to 3 p.m. Nov. 21 at Wilson Creek Winery, will include lunch and chances to win valuable prizes.

"We are so lucky to be in the heart of Southern California Wine Country," said Myra Pettus, business manager of the DP School of Photography. "There is no better place to hold a photography workshop than at a beautiful winery like Wilson Creek."

These workshops mark expanded course offerings, and the school recently launched a new service that is aimed at giving photographers a way to get tips via the Internet.

"Our workshops have focused on camera and photography learning skills and we plan to continue with these highly valued lessons in our fall workshops," said school owner Dan Pettus.

"Our fall 2009 workshops will have six of the Advertisement

best professional photographers in the business with plenty of one-on-one instructor time for an enjoyable and rewarding training experience," he continued. "Along with outstanding photography and camera learning, we have added a business track with proven techniques on how to cash-in on your photo skills."

Pettus said the photography business segment is designed for area residents who want to explore ways to supplement their income in an industry field commonly known as stock photography.

"Stock agencies cost nothing, but you need to understand the requirements and rules," he said in a news release.

A new service offered at the school is titled "Ask-a-Pro." By accessing the company’s Internet site, amateur photographers and hobbyists can submit a question to a professional at the school. Questions will be answered free within a day or two, Pettus said.

Call (951) 693-0500 or log on to www.dpschoolofphotography.com for more information on the workshops or the "Ask-a-Pro" service.
