HEMET - A 34-year-old Hemet woman who allegedly robbed a bank today was caught by passersby and kept from getting to her vehicle until police arrived.

Carlee Turner has yet to be processed at the county jail but will be booked on suspicion of bank robbery, according to Hemet police Lt. Dean Evans.

Police received a call at 9:26 a.m. from employees at the Bank Of America branch on Florida Avenue, saying it had just been robbed, Evans said.

The woman has passed a note demanding money and advising the teller not to cause a scene, Evans said.

A teller handed her the money and the suspect ran out and across Florida Avenue, but residents stopped her in the parking lot of a nearby movie theater, Evans said.

First off, who are you to judge anybody? Do you know this person? Do you know where they are coming from? Whats that expression, "Dont judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes?"

Secondly, to get an education costs money. And lots of it. Have you ever gone to school? Did your parents help you out with that? Some individuals dont have family to help them, or the means to do so themselves. SO not everyone can afford an education. Class tuition, books, parking permits, gas...

On another note, "getting a job" is easier said than done. How do you know this woman hasnt tried and put in many applications everywhere around town and has got turned down? Do you know how frustrating it is to try time and time again to try and get a job and constantly get turned down? And let me ask you this, how do you know she has been on welfare for very long? How do you she hasnt paid into the system for years before and recently hit hard times? You ever considered that?

And as for that last comment, its really sad that, this unarmed mother, who mistakenly robs a bank out of complete desperation, you say should get a "maximum sentence", when there are murderers, rapists, and overall horrible people who dont get the maximum sentence or serve even a quarter of their time in prison after the crimes they commit time and time again. This mother has no criminal past and for this one act she commited you say maximum sentence?

LASTLY, dont use this particular situation and "lash out" your aggressions with EVERYONE on welfare. Sure some people take advantage of the system, BUT SOME DONT. And since you dont know this person, or their situation, maybe you should keep your mouth shut. (And in reference to the comment above, she is an American citizen) So that comment was of no relevance.

BTW, I never claimed to be a victim of anything. I have been blessed in my life that fortunately I have never had to get welfare, food stamps, WIC, or any gov. aid. But if one day I have too, which that day may come, I hope its there for me. Oh yeah, and FYI I have used birth control for over 13 years, have a full time job, graduated from CSUF with a Business Degree, and I dont really need to collect cans, but maybe you should. You def have the time, and it doesnt sound like your very busy with you being a lawyer and all. Help clean up the earth! Maybe you should chose a different occupation, because everything you stated couldnt be farther from the truth. Not to mention your not a compassionate person, which lawyers should be. To the people who don't truly know her need to take a step back before assuming things & making this into something it's not. We're in a tough economy right now & I guarantee I can pull out all your records & flaws as well FRANK (or any other ignorant person who feels the need to bash another just to try to make themself feel better). Frank, if you really are an attorney, then why is it that you have so much time to spend bashing someone else on several websites? Seriously, get a life & work on filling your clientel. Obviously, the economy has hit you too if you don't have enough clients to fill your days. You would expect someone (a "lawyer" at that) to sound a little more educated & a little less ignorant. If you need some practice having clients, why don't you take on her case so you may practice actually trying to help someone out.
What shocks me even more is that a school teacher (someone who should have been educated enough herself) would have the audacity to keep minor's names out of the public eye. I thought teachers were supposed to be helpful, not judgemental. Don't worry, I'll make sure to copy & send all your public posts to your principle to reveal your true side.
It is hard to get jobs these days. It's really sad to see the government generously help illegals, when a tax paying citizen needs a little bit of help at times. I wish her the best.

I am not passing judgment. She did what she did and should be held accountable for it. I hope her son has a loving grandma and father that will be there for him and help him to understand what she did and why. We have laws for a reason. I realize that it was hard for her to get a job with a criminal past, now it will be darn near impossible. Actions have consequences. I am also sure that she didn't just decide on a whim to do this. I was a friend once and still am now. Do I trust her? No. Do I feel she is trash? No. Deep down she is a decent person with morals and ethics. Unfortunately society glamorizes this kind of behavior. The laws should stay black and white for a reason so supportive family and friends don't blur the lines between what is right and wrong. We all have a family member or friend that is struggling to pay the bills, but it does not give any one person the right to steal. The community has resources and churches as well. I would like to say that I'm surprised at the compassion and empathy of these people, or the lack thereof. However, I am not. This country is full of 2 types of people: Closed-minded Republican pricks concerned with their own dime. And lower class people barely able to make a dime. And though, yes, some have the ability and means to grow up and succeed in this cut-throat, capitalist society. Some are left eating scraps. Don't get me wrong, there are fraudulent people out there, who steal and take what they can while giving nothing in return. But what about those people that actually need help? This page clearly shows that the people in this country don't necessarily care to help those in need; those people are nothing more than a burden to the rest of society. For the person that said this: are you aware that one can be intellectual without going to college. It does not take a rocket scientist to read a book. Which is probably what you should do. All of you sound like fascists. I bet you if you could build walls at our borders and kill all the jews and blacks and welfare-collecting citizens at once you'd be much obliged to do so. Would you not? There is a much bigger picture here than this woman who stole out of necessity. Let me reiterate: "STOLE OUT OF NECESSITY". If a person works and busts their ass to live and still cannot live, what do you expect them to do? I expect them to live. So, please do yourself a favor, and think before you speak. (or type in this case). Just because our government makes a law does not mean it is morally or ethically correct. Some might say that people should think for themselves, and strive to obey our countries law, but if it gets in the way of what you feel is right, that's when there's a problem. Try not to be so closed-minded next time people.
