There aren’t many places for Irish eyes to smile in southwest Riverside County on St. Patrick’s Day. Here’s an idea.

Killarney’s Restaurant & Irish Pub will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on Wednesday with bagpipes, step dancing, green spirits, and traditional food. Don’t forget the four-leaf clovers, pots of gold and leprechauns.

Part of the parking lot in front of the pub will be sectioned off with vendors, musical acts and a place to sit back, relax and enjoy a Guinness. The atmosphere will also be family friendly. This portion of the event will be open from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Admission is $5.

After 3 p.m., the entertainment will kick it up a notch with more live music and two outside bars serving drink specials including Jäeger bombs, Ice Luge, and the best pints this side of Dublin. Irish fare will also be specially priced.

Gates will continue to surround the location and the cover charge will be bumped up to $10 Advertisement

Denise Munson, entertainment manager, commented on how Killarney’s came to be. The goal was to "recreate a genuine Irish pub from abroad," she said.

She boasts the designed of the pub was built and all the makings were shipped straight from Ireland by the Sonas Design Company.

"It is a beautiful place, and it really does look like an authentic Irish pub," stated Ireland native and pub customer Neil White. "But, an Irish pub is not just the building, it’s about the people, and that is what they offer here…everybody knows your name kind of place."

His long-time Irish friend, Jarlath Darney agreed, "There’s a warm feeling when you come in, like home, it’s a meeting place for family and friends."

Killarney’s is on the south end of Temecula on Highway 79 south.

More information about the pub can be found at www.killarneys.com or by calling (951) 532-9920.
