PERRIS - A teenage boy was shot today today during a confrontation with several men in Perris.

The shooting was reported around 10:50 a.m. at 1481 Arrow Creek Drive, near Redlands Avenue.

Witnesses told Riverside County sheriff's deputies that between three and five suspects in two cars parked outside a house and accosted the victim and his friend. Gunfire erupted moments later, with at least seven shots heard by an occupant of a nearby home.

The condition of his friend was not immediately known.

Sheriff's radio broadcasts indicated the attack may have been gang- related.

The suspected shooters were described as black men in their 20s. One suspect was wearing a purple shirt, while another was wearing a burgundy shirt and hat, sheriff's officials said.

The two vehicles seen fleeing the area were described as a white newer- model Ford Taurus with a blown-out rear window and a gray Dodge Stratus.

What's new, Perris has always been a gang ridden place and little is done about gangs anywhere. Our city managers don't live around the the things they need to address. They are out of touch with their comunity.
