MORENO VALLEY - As doctors prepared to harvest organs from a brain- dead 36-year-old Moreno Valley man, detectives today sought public help to find the men who jumped Patrick Kasper as he delivered $90 worth of pizza.

Kasper had gone to the 22800 block of Adrienne Avenue to deliver the Pizza Hut food Thursday night, according to his family.

"I've lost my son, and nothing can bring him back," Kasper's mother, Lisa, told ABC7.

According to sheriff's officials, Kasper was working for the Pizza Hut on Alessandro Boulevard when he was jumped by an unknown number of assailants, identified only as males.

The victim told investigators that he was knocked out in the attack. He went back to his workplace and reported the robbery a short time later.

According to the sheriff's department, no suspects were located during a search of the area, and the house turned out to be abandoned.

Kasper was asleep at home Friday when he began struggling to breath, prompting his mother to call 911, the woman told reporters. He was pronounced brain dead by physicians at Riverside County Regional Medical Center hours later.

The man, who has one child, remained on life support today so that his organs can be harvested for transplant to others, according to the family.

"If you want the pizza, our drivers will give it to you," Lisa Kasper told ABC7. "Just don't hurt anybody else."

Moreno Valley Man Robbed of Pizzas Reportedly Left Brain Dead

MORENO VALLEY - A pizza delivery man who was overpowered and robbed during a delivery in Moreno Valley, was left brain dead by the attack, KABC-7 reported today.

Investigators said that the Pizza Hut delivery man, 36-year-old Patrick Kasper, went to a house in the 22800 block of Adrienne Avenue carrying $90 worth of food on Thursday night.

Kasper told deputies he was ambushed after knocking on the door and later told family members that two to three teenagers attacked him, punched him, knocked him out and stole the food. When deputies went to investigate, they found the house was vacant.

KABC reported that on Friday, Kasper's mother heard him in his bedroom struggling to breathe. He was rushed to the hospital, but doctors told the family that he had suffered a severe aneurysm in his brain and that he was pronounced legally brain dead.

According to KABC, Kasper's family said he was on life support at Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley. The family said they decided to donate his organs.

Kasper is the father of an 11-year-old girl.

His attackers remained at large today.

Authorities urged anyone with information to call the Moreno Valley Police Department at (951) 247-8700.

Disgusting absolutely disgusting. Beat a man who is trying to make a buck to feed his family for some pizza? How about a description of the attackers? hard for the public to help with so little info. A reward will get their buddies to roll over on em and quick I hope. Sounds like a death offense to me.

I know the victim's father. This is beyond tragic. A poor man making a living and he has his life taken away. Now his daughter will grow up without a father. All this over pizza. These "kids" need to be caught and tried as adults. If they can do this now, what will they do to others later in their life?!? Please if you have any information, anything at all that you know about this crime, please call law enforcement. Please

these kids will probably only get six months for manslaughter as there defense would be solely robbery not intentional murder

Parents of known gang members are to blame as well. U raised monsters because ur blind to whats going on in ur kids lives. Ur too wrapped up in ur careers or ur just a loser urself and u condone this behavior. Whatever the case, parents who cant handle their violent kids should turn them in and get them off the streets. Gang members are cowards no different than suicide bombers or child predators. They should all be rounded up ................!
