Former Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet allegedly took tens of thousands of dollars in bribes from two Coachella Valley developers, who sought and got his support on land projects throughout the city, Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin said Thursday, Feb. 16.
The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office is expected to announce a decision today regarding criminal charges stemming from the ongoing investigation into possible corruption involving former Palm Springs city leaders, which led federal investigators to seize thousands of documents from City Hall in 2015.
