EASTVALE (CNS) – One person was killed and two others hurt Saturday morning in a three-vehicle crash on the westbound state Route 60 in Eastvale.
The crash was first reported as a rollover accident with at least one other vehicle striking the overturned vehicle near the interchange with southbound Interstate 15 at 3:15 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Paramedics responded at 3:20 a.m. and declared one person dead at the scene. One person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and a second refused medical care, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The crash prompted the closure until further notice of all westbound lanes of the Pomona Freeway and traffic was being diverted onto the Ontario Freeway. The northbound Ontario Freeway connector ramp to the westbound Pomona Freeway was also closed until further notice.
The cause of the crash was under investigation by the CHP.
