Riverside University Health System reported 1,393 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday and four new deaths. In all, 43,376 have tested positive for the virus and 824 people have died since the county began recording data back in early March.
The county reported 483 people have recovered from the virus overnight, while there one fewer person hospitalized — a total of 358. There are 112 people being treated in ICUs for the virus, the same as the day before.
The county reported that there were 323 confirmed cases in county jails and another 1,471 cases recorded in state prisons within the county.
The county reported that 414,376 have been tested so far, 11,036 more than the day before.
Locally, Temecula added 22 new cases (762), Murrieta added 32 (848), Wildomar added 14 (403), Lake Elsinore added 22 (889), Canyon Lake added three (67), Menifee added 36 (1,022), Hemet added 48 (1,219), and San Jacinto added 36 (827).
In local communities, Anza added no new cases (11), East Hemet added five (233), French Valley added 11 (230), Lakeland Village added seven (165), Valle Vista added 11 (165), and Winchester added none (10).
So far, four people have died from Temecula, 18 from Murrieta, seven from Wildomar, 15 from Lake Elsinore, 14 from Menifee, 37 from Hemet, 14 from San Jacinto, two from East Hemet, one each from French Valley, Lakeland Village, and Valle Vista, and none from Canyon Lake, Anza, or Winchester.
The number of known active virus cases countywide is 20,171, an increase of 906 from Monday, according to figures. The active count is derived by subtracting deaths and recoveries from the overall cases, according to the County Executive Office.
