2019 Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival wins international awards; sets 2020 date and distributes donations

TEMECULA – The International Festivals and Events Association awarded the 2019 Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival with three honors of excellence, Sept. 25. The festival won Gold Pinnacle awards for the best media relations campaign and social media campaign.  A Silver Pinnacle award was given for the festival’s 2019 website.

IFEA recognized the most outstanding examples of quality and creativity in the festivals and events industry during the awards.  The professional competition draws entries from some of the world’s top festivals and events including the Dublin Irish Festival in Dublin, Ohio; the O.C. Fair in Costa Mesa; the Des Moines Arts Festival, Des Moines, Iowa; the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington; the Kentucky Derby Festival in Louisville, Kentucky; the Pasadena Tournament of Roses in Pasadena; the Winter Festival of Lights at Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, and the Memphis in May International Festival in Memphis, Tennessee.

International winners truly spanned the globe with diverse entertainment from RedFilo Events, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Destination NSW, Sydney, Australia; Cuckoo Events, Dublin, Ireland; Festival Lent, Maribor, Slovenia; Geumsan Insam Festival in Gangeneung-si, South Korea, and the Hanseong Baekje Cultural Festival, Songpa-gu, South Korea.

IFEA awards were presented in 69 different categories in total including best TV promotion, social media site, sponsorship program, social media campaign, website and merchandise. Each category is divided according to four budget categories with the TVBWF competing in the $1 million to $3 million category.

The winning entries were produced by two local firms. Public Ad Agency of Murrieta created the 2019 Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival website at www.tvbwf.com.

Melody’s Ad Works Inc. of Wildomar, the festival’s public relations firm, created the award-winning media relations campaign and social media campaign.  It is the seventh straight year that the festival has won best media relations.

The Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival has won over 40 IFEA awards since 2009 and competes against the world’s top festivals and events. For a complete list of winners and more information on IFEA, visit www.ifea.com.

At the festival’s annual sponsor recognition party several nonprofit organizations received donations from the 2019 event. They included: Aviation Explorers, California Conservation Corps, Dollars for Scholars, Lake Elsinore High School Athletics, Murrieta Mesa High School Athletics, Temecula Valley High School Golden Bear Foundation, Temecula Valley High School PTSA, U.S. Marine Corps Friends of the Stampede and Wine Town Rollers.
