4 displaced by fire at French Valley home

FRENCH VALLEY (CNS) – A fire damaged a home in French Valley today, displacing four people.

The non-injury blaze was reported about 10:20 a.m. in the 34600 block of Shallot Drive, near Abelia Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Six engine crews and a truck company were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in the garage, officials said.

The blaze was knocked down within 20 minutes and did not extend into the primary residence, according to reports from the scene. However, the damage resulted in two men, a woman and a girl being displaced, according to the fire department.

American Red Cross personnel were summoned to assist the occupants with finding temporary alternative living arrangements.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
