Editor’s note; this event has been cancelled due to rain and will be rescheduled at a later date.

Bargain hunters and animal lovers alike are in for a real treat this weekend at Animal Friends of the Valleys inaugural Barking Lot Sale.

“We did do something similar in years past,” Katie Menges, event and media manager for AFV, said. “I would say that this is our first ever Barking Lot Sale.”

Interested shoppers will find a plethora of pet items and office supplies.

“We are going to have all kinds of pet related goodies and office supplies that the shelter is not in need of and would like to be able to pass those items along to people who could make good use of them,” Menges said.

Crates, kennels, pet supplies and a good amount of office furniture will be available for purchase with all proceeds benefiting Animal Friends of the Valleys.

Shoppers and supporters are invited to donate to the shelter which is currently in need of cat and kitten food, cat litter, blankets, towels and cleaning supplies.

“We are just gearing up for kitten season right now,” Menges said. “It is already starting which is very early for us.”

The sale will be held in the parking lot of the shelter making it easy for those interested in adopting a pet to visit with shelter pets after they complete their shopping.

“We always love to be able to show off our adoptable shelter pets,” Menges said.

The Animal Friends of the Valleys’ Barking Lot Sale will be held Saturday, March 13, and Sunday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Animal Friends of the Valleys is located at 33751 Mission Trail in Wildomar.
