The 88th annual Anza Days is not canceled.

The nation is facing unprecedented times with all the craziness going on in the world right now, but rest assured the Anza Valley Lions Club is working diligently behind the scenes to make sure the 88th annual Anza Days goes off without a hitch come June 27.

The theme this year was voted on by the parade entries last year, and they chose myths, legends and fantasy. As always, we encourage everyone to incorporate patriotism and freedom into the theme.

Our flyover is confirmed. Our grand marshal will be our very own local legend, Thomas Firth. For opening ceremonies, national anthem and announcing, it is once again our honor to have Kathy Blair. Our local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1873 will once again be providing the color guard.

We are also focusing and honoring all of our 2020 graduates and encourage as many of them to be present for our town’s version of “graduation” for them during and after the parade.

The chamber of commerce will provide the entertainment, which is John Knori’s new band, the Rollies, followed by Moon Shot. We are also working on an inflatable carnival, which requires wristbands for $25 with unlimited use.

Please be patient with us as we adapt to any changes we may have to make to this year’s event as the time draws near. We are working diligently together to make this happen.

Anza Civic Improvement League vendor forms, Anza Lions Club’s parade entry forms, Miss Anza Days contest info, camping information and reservations and more can be found at http://www.anzalionsclub.org very soon. Questions or volunteers can call 951-763-7075 or email anzadays@gmail.com or anzavalleylionsclub@gmail.com.

While Anza Valley Lions Club chairs this special tradition, we could not make it happen without the other organizations and volunteers working together in unity for our town. Details on schedule for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, locations, prices for Thimble Club’s annual pancake breakfast and Friday night’s dinner at the Hall will be added soon.

Thank you all. Be safe. We all look forward to seeing you at our 88th annual Anza Days.

Mimi Brown

President of Anza Valley Lions Club and Chair of Anza Days
