Two Menifee residents killed in single car crash in Romoland

ROMOLAND — Two Menifee residents were killed after a vehicle crashed into a light pole at 11:48 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1 near Heritage High School. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, adults, not students were involved in the crash. Cal Fire Riverside County Fire Department reported the incident located Highway 74 and Briggs Road as a solo vehicle collision with two patients requiring extraction. According to Riverside County Sheriff's Deputy Robyn Flores, the 81-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the 87-year-old passenger was transported to a local hospital where they were later pronounced dead. There was no indication alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this collision. The intersection of Briggs Road and Highway 74 was closed until 2:20 p.m. Any
