Junior golfers find success in short game championships in Murrieta

Local junior golfers gathered in late October to enjoy a day of fun and competition at the Murrieta Valley Golf range. The short game championship was hosted by the Valley Junior Golf Association. The Valley Junior Golf Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to young people and golf. VJGA was formed in 1987 to promote the traditions of golf and encourage competition and camaraderie among junior golfers.“We run tournaments for kids 5 to 18-years-old and some of our past junior alumni include Brendan Steele, Rickie Fowler and Sydnee Michaels, all who have illustrious professional careers,” Lou Skovron, PGA executive director of programs, said.The overall champion this year for the short game championship
