Brown Bag Lunch Workshop offers free basic sales and use tax seminar

ANZA – The Highway 371 Business Association offers its monthly education series known as The Brown Bag Lunch Workshops Thursday, Feb. 20, at noon. The topic is “Be Business Savvy about Basic Sales and Use Tax.”

Attends will learn if they need a seller’s permit, how to prepare a return, maintaining adequate records, using a resale certificate, supporting and reporting exempt sales and more.

President Annika Knoppel said, “Highway 371 Business Association is a membership-based 501(c)6 nonprofit corporation. We are here to assist new and established businesses. This workshop is provided free to the public as a service to the business community. Come and learn during your lunch hour break. Opportunities come from strange quarters. Forming relationships with the other movers and shakers in town can generate everything from clients to new business ventures to advertising to awesome employees.”

The free hourlong seminar is presented by Lance Christiansen, information officer at the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, and will be held at the Marketplace Cooperative, 56480 State Route 371, Suite 10, in Anza. MCI is Anza’s local business services provider. Parking is available in the Anza Valley Business Center courtyard parking.
