Live music once again reverberated from the Cahuilla Casino and Hotel Thursday, Oct. 8, as Tony Suraci and his band performed country, blues and rock hits.

The musical trio, lead by frontman guitarist Tony Suraci, thrilled concertgoers by covering songs by artists such as Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, David Bowie, Van Morrison and Johnny Cash.

The casino provided a safe and secure venue for the outdoor concert, with face coverings and social distancing required. Held at the hotel’s patio area, the venue was peppered with propane heaters, boasted two bars, tables, couches and chairs for the comfort of the patrons attending the free event.

“The casino staff treated us right,” Suraci said. “They gave us a steak before the show and provided some custom jackets for me and the guys when it got cold later in the evening. I am honored that they chose my band for their first event such as this.”

Suraci was born and raised in Southern California where he picked up the guitar at the age of 12 and has never looked back. He has appeared in TV shows, opened for well-known artists and covered a wide variety of musical genres, as well as created his own music. He is well-seasoned and his professionalism and skill are apparent with each performance.

With son Anthony Suraci on drums and bassist Matthew Rodriguez, the energetic trio kept fans on their toes with their renditions of classic favorites.

Band members amazed fans by switching instruments, with Suraci on bass, Rodriguez on drums and Anthony Suraci on vocals and guitar.

“Anthony needs to get his wiggles out on vocals,” Rodriguez said.
