A portion of Clinton Keith Road in northeastern Murrieta, as well as off-ramps to the road from Interstate 215, were closed due to a gas leak for several hours Wednesday afternoon.
The Murrieta Police Department said in a post on social media platfroms around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday that Clinton Keith Road was closed between Whitewood Road and I-215 due to a “major gas line that was ruptured.”
A post to Caltrans District 8’s Twitter account at 2:25 p.m. indicated that off-ramps from I-215 to Clinton Keith Road would be closed for an indefinite period of time. California Highway Patrol officers were also called in to provide traffic control, per a CHP incident log.
The roadway was reopened by about 6:30 p.m., according to Murrieta police.
