CHP needs help locating hit-and-run suspect

The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help in locating a red 1990-1992 Honda Accord driven by an unknown suspect in a collision that involved a pedestrian who later died.

LAKE ELSINORE — The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspected hit-and-run driver that killed a man in the Lakeland Village last Friday night.

At approximately 9:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, the California Highway Patrol said, a red 1990-1992 Honda Accord driven by an unknown suspect was traveling on northbound Grand Avenue north of Sangston Drive within the unincorporated area of Lakeland Village/Lake Elsinore and struck a pedestrian.

After the crash, the suspect immediately fled the scene in the Honda Accord in a northbound direction on Grand Avenue. The victim, a white 46-year-old male, later perished from injuries sustained in the crash.

Evidence at the scene suggests the right front headlamp will be damaged, the right front passenger mirror will be missing and there will be additional right front damage.
