The California Interscholastic Federation, Southern Section and KDOC-TV, channel 56, announced the expansion of the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Game of the Week on KDOC-TV. In the first year, the Pacific Surfliner Game of the Week featured 10 basketball games, eight games were CIF-SS matchups. This year KDOC-TV will telecast 20 basketball games and will feature 16 CIF-SS matchups.

The extended broadcast agreement provides CIF-SS member schools with a platform to showcase their athletic talent through the 2021-2022 season. CIF-SS schools feature the No. 1 player in the country as ranked by ESPN as well as five of the top 25 schools in the nation.

“I want to thank KDOC and general manager Jack Peck their continued support of the CIF Southern Section,” Rob Wigod, commissioner of athletics for CIF-SS, said. “We are so appreciative of their efforts in helping showcase the outstanding product that we have to offer. We look forward to seeing more great games on KDOC this year.”

“We are excited to once again partner with the CIF Southern Section to bring incredible high school basketball to the 5.2-plus million homes in the Los Angeles TV market. Last year was hugely successful and this years’ games will be can’t miss TV,” Peck said. “The talent is getting better every year, and this years’ schedule will allow us to showcase even more of it. We’d like to thank our returning tittle sponsor, Pacific Surfliner, as well as our presenting sponsors, In-n-Out and Wingstop for making this possible.”
