RIVERSIDE (CNS) – Next week’s Riverside City Council meeting will exclude in-person public participation as City Hall remains closed to the public, but people seeking to address the council can do so by telephone or online, officials said today.

“Each member of the public will have one opportunity to call, and each call can last as long as five minutes,” according to a city statement. “Each caller will be able to speak on any item on the agenda, covering all items in the one call.”

The number to call the council chamber is 951-826-8600.

Tuesday’s meeting will also be livestreamed via www.EngageRiverside.com, and residents will be offered an opportunity to email comments or questions to the clerk at city_clerk@riversideca.gov.

The council held its first virtual meeting March 31.

Tuesday’s meeting will open at 1 p.m., and the agenda is comprised of three dozen items, including contract awards, funding requests and resolutions on municipal affairs.

All city offices and facilities were closed to the public March 13 under a local emergency declaration that dovetailed with Riverside County’s.

Social-distancing requirements are in place in city buildings, none of which can be accessed by members of the public except by special appointment.
