County: Film production may cause traffic delays west of Perris

PERRIS (CNS) – A production company will be filming action sequences for a TV series just west of Perris Thursday and Friday night, and motorists are advised to expect traffic delays — and not be alarmed by the smoke and noise.
“Riverside County welcomes television productions of this magnitude and their economic impact,” Riverside County Film Commissioner Bettina Breckenfeld said. “To avoid any confusion, we want the community to be aware of the life-like simulations as part of the filming.”
According to Breckenfeld, most of the Fox Television production activity — the name of the series that’s involved was not disclosed — will be taking place in the area of Harvill Avenue and Rider Street, a quarter-mile west of Interstate 215 and the Perris city limits.
Crews will be shooting sequences between 6 tonight and 7 a.m. Friday, and during the same hours Friday into Saturday.
Breckenfeld said a controlled explosion will occur Friday night, and the California Highway Patrol will be running periodic traffic breaks on I-215 tonight and Friday night to facilitate filming. Access to segments of Harvill and Rider may also be limited at times.
“The Riverside County Film Commission aims to bring more production companies looking to Riverside County for location opportunities,” Breckenfeld said. “We want studio productions to know we are here to assist with county and state agencies to ensure a safe and successful film shoot.”
