EMWD gives HDR design contract to upsize Diaz Sewer

The Eastern Municipal Water District awarded HDR Engineering the preliminary design contract to increase capacity of the Diaz Sewer.Eastern’s 5-0 board vote Wednesday, Feb. 3, awarded HDR a contract worth $245,800 and approved total appropriations of $342,500. The project will not be exempt from California Environmental Quality Act review, and the design process will determine information to be incorporated into a future environmental document.The district's Sewer Collection System Master Plan calls for approximately 1,200 feet of gravity sewer within Diaz Road from north of Rancho Way to the Diaz Lift Station to be increased in diameter from 8inches to 15 inches.
