Employees and wine club members at Fazeli Cellars recently worked together to raise funds for Honoring Our Fallen, an organization which helps families who have suffered the loss of a loved one serving in all branches of the United States military or as first responders.

Kara Smith, an employee at the winery lost her son Army Spc. Nathan “Nate” Burkman, four years ago due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Burkman was 21.

“Fazeli Cellars staff wanted to make a difference and opted to hold a donation drive within their own staff to benefit Honoring Our Fallen, the organization that helped their co-worker, Kara,” Fazeli Cellars president BJ Fazeli said, adding that wine club members also joined in to assist in the fundraising effort.

Fazeli matched the donations to help the families Honoring Our Fallen serves.

More than $5,000 was raised during the drive to help families of fallen soldiers and first responders.

Honoring Our Fallen relies on donations to support the work they do helping families in their darkest hour.
