Few tickets remain for Blind Taste Temecula Valley

Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association’s first-ever Blind Taste Temecula Valley is a popular one, with most of the 200 spots allocated for the Thursday, Dec. 5, event already snatched up by wine lovers.

But not all, there are still select tickets available.

Of course, this isn’t the first time the TVWA has hosted a blind tasting event, in fact, this one, according to Krista Chaich, executive director of TVWA, is a modification of the People’s Choice Blind Tasting event held in recent years.

“This will be the first year that it will be a seated wine tasting with the winemakers themselves,” Chaich said. “They will share their personal insight and anecdotes of each wine presented.”

Each of the participating wineries will host a table and participate in the guided blind tasting of six wines by the sponsor winemaker.

Chaich said attendees will learn a lot from the winemakers and owners in attendance about the wines.

“The unique characteristics of the wines, from smell to flavor profiles, if they’re barreled or steel tank fermented, when they’re picked, etc.,” Chaich said. “Anything that the winemaker would like for them to know about the wine.”

Guests will get to pick their “Favorite in Flight” after the blind tasting portion and all wines will be unveiled.

Afterward, attendees are invited to mix and mingle at a Winemakers Reception and will have the opportunity to taste the wines from all participating wineries as they are revealed.

“People should come to this event for the unique opportunity to hang out with our rockstar winemakers and taste some of their favorite wines,” Chaich said.

Participating wineries include: Akash Winery (sold out), Baily Winery (sold out), Carter Estate Winery & Resort, Danza del Sol Winery (sold out), Doffo Winery (sold out), Falkner Winery (sold out), Fazeli Cellars; Hart Winery (sold out), Leoness Cellars; Maurice Car’rie Winery (sold out), Miramonte Winery, Oak Mountain Winery, Palumbo Family Vineyards & Winery (sold out), Robert Renzoni Vineyards (sold out), South Coast Winery Resort & Spa (sold out), Thornton Winery (sold out), Wiens Family Cellars (sold out), Wilson Creek Winery (sold out).

The event will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at South Coast Winery’s Grand Ballroom, 34843 Rancho California Road in Temecula.
